Professional Bio

Marnie Lawler is a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and Restorative Wellness Practitioner (RWS) who specializes in Functional Nutrition and serves as her clients Health Advocate.

 

Marnie graduated from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She also has a Master of Education in Middle School Science. Her own health issues, as well as her family's health issues and passion for science and nutrition lead her to become a NTP in 2013. Since that time she has gone on to become versed in, food sensitivity testing, functional blood chemistry, a specialist in the gut microbiome. Most recently she studied under Functional Practitioner, Chris Kresser LAc, receiving an advanced degree in his ADAPT (Advanced Diagnostics and Treatment) Program at the Kresser Institute in 2016.

 

Marnie's recommendations are individualized and focused on diet as well as lifestyle. All the while keeping in mind her clients goals and symptoms. This leads her clients toward improved health, mitigation of autoimmune conditions as well as improved energy, vitality and weight management. She believes that everyone is different and her plans are tailored for each individual. Marnie combines the dietary wisdom of traditional cultures with the latest science in integrative and functional medicine to create plans for her clients that work in today’s world.

 

Her special interests include:

  • Digestive Disorders - such as IBS and IBD, SIBO, food sensitivities

  • Blood Sugar Regulation and Other Metabolic Conditions

  • Women’s Health Issues - from Pre-Pregnancy, Pregnancy and Post Pregnancy, as well as hormonal imbalances, thyroid conditions

  • Gaining and Losing Weight

  • Autoimmune Disorders

  • Helping youth/teenagers understand how to fuel their bodies, deal with acne and/or other hormone issues that all young adolescents deal with

  • Helping parents/families make changes in their diet and lifestyle that are manageable and promote a life of health, happiness and longevity
